I prefer a stuff sack By Scott P. Smith I bought a pair of these for my Hennessy hammock. I tried them, but I think I prefer using a stuff sack. Using the snakeskin takes up more space than a stuff sack. But if you attach it to the outside of your pack, that probably does not matter. I did not like the way the snake skins bunch up at the ends of the hammock. It makes using the hammock in tight spots a little harder. I tried to put both the tarp and hammock into the snake skins. That works, but if you do that, you can’t easily put the tarp on a separate line (running above the hammock), the way you see in the pictures. So all-in-all I would not recommend it, but your mileage may very. I have heard some people strongly endorse the snakeskins, but after using them, I do not understand why.

Essential part of the Hennessy By Reginald M. Dela Cruz If you have a Hennessy hammock or other bundled hammocks this is an indispensable piece of gear. It cuts setup and take down time in half. Which is a pretty amazing feat since setup is already simple. I am able to roll up the hammock, rainfly, and even stash the tent stakes inside of the snakeskin. I wrap the treehuggers and excess rope tightly around the whole thing making it an extremely compact lightweight sleeping unit.

Pretty Nifty Gear By Lux Camper After a little trial and error, I found the snakeskins very handy. I leave the rainfly connected to the hammock mains and pull the skins down over everything. I run a seperate ridgeline for the rainfly and it does not attach to the tarp – just free floats between the trees, to hold a sharp crease. Take down the ridgeline, and roll it up into the hammock, and pull the snake skins down over the whole burrito. It does make it more difficult to stuff back into the sack, but for the convenience of setup and take down, they are worth it.
