Free spirits

Interesting, fun, well written, well formatted. This book was written by a gentleman with a good sense of humor and adventure. The story of Ali (his wife) and Patrick’s spur of the moment four year adventure to sail around the world is told with enough detail to keep you interested and reading, but not too much, so you will not get bored. By the end of the book I was envious of their free spirits and went onto their website [...] to see what they are doing now. Well worth the time and money to read.

What a stir this young couples’ adventures caused in the Sailing community! Forum threads had to be shut down, everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, had an opinion. The conservative “do-it-by-the-book-or-not-at-all” folks versus the “go-for-it” crew. They were young adventurers,the scourge of the Coast Guard, cool ambassadors, entitled, spoiled, brats, you name it. I got a kick out of a site named “Sailing Anarchy”, where they were often slammed for being non-conformist! Ya’ gotta’ love it! Always a fan, I met them for pizza and beer. These are wonderful people who definitely live life on their terms. I love them and I think their kids won the lottery. What great parents! This book is a fun read for everyone, sailor or not.
